Hey everybody. Sorry I have not updated lately. Getting up at 5am sure takes some getting used to. On the first day we recieved an Introduction to Terminal Radar book with all the lessons in it. We went in order going over each one. The lessons are very basic in ITR. The first block we went over Expectations of a Controller, Facility Training overview, job of a terminal controller, Human Factors in ATC. The second block was keyboarding, airspace basics, general control, FAA publications, Aircraft recognition, strip marking, FDIO, basic communications, ATC clearances(not the phraseology but what they are)and data blocks. This week we finished up with block 3 we went over Approach plates and IFR charts, seperation, weather dissemination, and position relief briefing. The only thing that I had not learned at UND was keyboarding with the ACD and STARS keyboard, which are almost identical except for the top 2 lines, and FDIO. We went over both in class very indepth with part task exercises, so all of us got up to speed with it. The test were very easy and the teachers go overthing that will be on the test. The lowest score on the test was probably a 95. Most of us only missed about 0 to 1 question. We will be starting RTF and joining controllers from the field who are at up/down facilities coming back for radar training. We will also start getting paid facility pay. Tracon classes are the only ones who will start getting facility pay before they actually report to there facility. Well if anybody has any questions ask! Thanks.
