you and me, having different tastes...imagine that ;)

and, well, i would be up for a discussion, but i'm scarcely ever on AIM any more, due to my not having any internet access other than at the end of the work day at this point. i'm probably going to want to go with some kind of high-speed online, but i'm hesitant to set anything up until i know all the facts. so for now, i just get to check in every other day or so.

but uh...okay, here are a few thoughts:

the main reason i liked moulin rouge better was simply because i felt it had more depth. chicago was certainly nice eye candy, and the songs were catchy, and everyone was very glamorous and all, and a movie certainly doesn't have to have depth to be enjoyable, but those type hardly ever strike a chord in me. i need drama, i need devotion, i need angst, i need strife, and i need someone to overcome it. i need truth, beauty, freedom and love. what chicago delivers is a catchy, sassy, humorous and slick look at that era. like i said, it's nice and all (and i do feel that everyone did a very good job in their roles. i was particularly surprised by renee zellweger's performance), it's just not going to beat out moulin rouge, for me. *shrugs, and waits for doyle to take the counterpoint*

a couple of things i particularly liked include "the tapdance", Amos' "Mr. Cellophane" and the Cell Block Tango. You had to know the violence of that one would appeal to me, yes? ;)
