Dave, In regards to Bergen-Belsen I must admit that I am suprised that nobody remembers 'old Clem' from the Lippstadt days! He was one of the first british medic's into that infamous death camp after the liberation. As I said previously in reply to Tonys thread that this guy stayed on after the War and lived in Bockenforder in the quarters area. He was well looked after by the Army after he retired. He used to be invited to all the Mess functions when especially Brigadiers and the like, came calling. A truly remarkable character who left anyone who ever meet him with a profound respect for this individual who had witnessed at first hand, the atrocities and senseless slaughter that had been committed. Even the most sceptical of us who had the honnor of meeting and listening to him speak of such things must never forget those harrowing times! Don't you agree?.........
