Jim, I've got to stick my two pennyworth in here and whole heartedly agree with you. One of the greatest sickness's inflicting this country in the last few years, is Apathy. Whether by design (and I'm just synical enough to believe it's true) or accident, I'm not sure which but the politicians (of ALL parties) have worked their socks of to make us so effing disgrunled with the lot of them, that we now show little interest in their antics. NO!.... correction, we DO care what they get up to, because it effects our lives so much, of course we do. But what we don't do, is care enough to get off our backsides and do something about it. For too long now, we have convinced ourselves that "it doesn't matter who I vote for, it's not going to make much difference!". B**llocks! EVERY vote counts, especially the ones from you lot who don't normally vote, because you have already been accounted for in the plans and strategies of the main parties. Your already written out of the story! This government and, in particular, it's arrogant, self-serving, selfish and lying, excuse for a leader, T.Bliar has led this country so far down the road of ruin that, I fear, there is no way back. We have become such a puppet of the U.S.A. we may as well be the 51st state and the Europeans are just taking the piss! What the Germans failed to do in two world wars, they are accomplishing, in alliance with the frogs (who have hated us for hundreds of years) by economically bleeding us dry and emasculating us by stripping our right to self government from us by stealth (aided by the prick we call a P.M.) who want's, so desperately, to be the first President of Europe.
I agree with all of you folk who think that, "there's not a lot to choose between the lot of them", with regard to the choice of politian and their parties. But the thing to remember is this. At the moment, YOU STILL HAVE A CHOICE! Don't throw away that choice by being apathetic. If you are unhappy with this government (and I think a lot of folk are) then get out there tommorow and use your vote. Doesn't matter who you vote for really, but use it OR LOSE IT! The best way of getting rid of this lot is to vote Conservative, simply because they are the next biggest party. Nothing to do with their policies or personalities (who we all agree are as bad as each other) but simply for the reason that, they can't be any worse than the present lot and, if they are, then we can get rid of them in four years time. I'm not too sure that is the case with Labour and T.Bliar!
Rant over.......................
