Oh yes I remember Lt Piper. Didnt hedo a rendition of his Gary Glitter songs at a mess do in fally and end up with extras for it? He was if I recall a Sapper originally and took a commission which is when he came to our battery. anyone remember him getting out of the army when we were in Gutersloh and being carried out of the barracks on a high chair?
As for Cooky he came to one of the reunions which was the last time I saw him. He was a major then. When I got out in 79 he was a troop commander at Woolwich. I had just arrived and was walking down to the gaurd room to get the info on a prisoner escort I was supposed to be doing. Walking down the road I heard this voice shout " LURCH Get your f*&£)in arse up here. I turned round and saw Cooky hanging out of a window and waving !! Both fine fellows. Anyone recall Pipers replacement who I think was Lt Taylor?
