I agree, no one can knock the job the WRAC WREN the WRAF did when we were serving, they were all well suited for the job, serving as medical /drivers/Office Clerks etc.
But? now they are part of a unit, what happens if one of these young ladies are shot dead/ captured and torteued. it has not happened yet to our knowledge, but what if. Imagine the seeing the front page of a newspaper. It's bad enough when you see that some young man with everything to live for gets killed, his family say , yes he always wanted to be a soldier, he was doing his job. I cannnot see the same headlines for a young female soldier can you ?
