Derek, I believe this is true regarding John. When I first started the 49 reunions, I did contact John, he wasn't in good health then, that is why he never came to a reunion. John, like so many others, he did what he wanted to do. He did suffer an injury from an explosion when he was staioned in Shoburyness.
