The couplet at the end of this sonnet states how Shakespeare loves this dark lady. It alters the meaning because through out the poem he compares her to dark and not likeable things but at the end he states how he likes her for who and what she is.

Shakespeare mock aspects of the traditional sonnet in Sonnet 130 because there are 11 syllables rather then 10. The last line in the sonnet doesn't have 10 words but it has 9 instead.
