Once everything was set into motion, the others did, as they needed to do. Erlic was quite impressed at seeing both Laurel, and Valhorek firing the volley of arrows into the fray of spider people. Tristan, in his most admirable method, really took care of those that thought they were easy prey. He was sure that the spider people thought twice before even trying to confront a dragon, and one of considerable strength, again.

He took his place next to Laurel, and fired as many arrows as he could before the rest of the group shot out into the open to do hand to hand combat with the enemy. He then made his move as well, leaving his bow at Laurel’s side, and taking off into the open. He preferred the open, especially if mass confusion had the enemy confused. Since Marz, Corum, and Tristan were fighting next to each other, he decided to move off into the opposite direction. One of the creatures started to attack him, and before anything could happen, Erlic had his katana out, and quickly sliced at the legs, thus collapsing the creature before he plunged his sword into the beast’s stomach.

There were others that he simply moved in to attack. The blood lust of what had transpired in the tavern was still within him, and so he attacked with a vengeance, doing everything that his martial arts afforded him. He would use his weapons as needed, using one to entwine it around the creatures legs making it fall to the ground before he pounced on it, stabbing it to its death. No sooner had he finished than another of the creatures was found heading toward him. He smiled, and quickly ran at it, leaping into a somersault, and landing behind the creatures. He moved in, grabbed the creature’s arm, and twisted it, forcing its own sword into its own stomach. The creature’s eyes went wide before it fell to its death, leaving a smiling Erlic to move on toward other enemies.

That’s when he approached one of the female versions, holding a spike in front of her. Erlic eyed the weapon carefully noting the odd color of the blade. Considering she was part spider, chances were quite good that the weapon was tainted with poison, probably one that could kill instantly, or one that simply made their victim fall asleep for future torture.

The guild master moved carefully, sheathing his katana, and pulling out his Kusari-gama. It came with a length of weighted chain attached to the butt end of a handle, and at the other end was a weapon similar to the sickle. The user could attack with the kama in hand, club or entangle with the weighted chain, or whirl the kama at the end of the chain. He watched the woman in front of him, slowly swinging the weapon over his head slowly, just enough to keep it moving as he moved around his opponent. Several times the spider woman tried to attack, and Erlic had to roll out of the way, while continuing the pendulum swing of his weapon. Eventually he spotted an opening, and let loose the weapon as it wrapped itself around her wrist, slicing it nicely, and forcing her to drop her weapon. She tried to pick up the fallen weapon but Erlic had already swung his own weapon at her, forcing her backwards. This time he swung hard, and looped it about her neck, slicing through her skin. He pulled back on the weapon, as it sliced even further through her throat, thus ending her life. Just as he was retrieving his weapon, he spotted another adversary from his left. He quickly picked up the pike, and lunged it at the oncoming threat, dropping it to the ground almost instantly.

Valhorek took steady aim, and quickly unleashed the arrows at his command once the diversion started. He was quite surprised at the nature of Erlic’s own arrow, and wondered where he had found such an unusual device. Unfortunately now was not the time to think about such matters, for he had more important things to focus on, and that was the safety of his friends, and the death of the oncoming enemy.

Val had learned the bow late in life, and usually didn’t work with it too much, although he had schooled with the best on the instrument. In fact, when he had traveled to Kor Toi, he had been instructed by one of the archers there, as well as an Elven archer when he had traveled to their homeland. Each had their own unique way of handling the bow, and he made sure he remembered their lessons as best as possible. Although he didn’t use the weapon that much, he made painstaking care to practice as often as possible.

He continued to aim, and fire, hitting the oncoming enemy, and taking pains not to hit his friends. Most of Val’s arrows hit their mark, and for that he mouthed a quiet prayer to his god Apollo. It was then that Argus brought back an injured Marz. Since Laurel was doing an admirable job at using the bow, Val put his down, and quickly attended to Marz.

Valhorek immediately set about withdrawing the arrow from Marz’s wound. Although quite deep, it didn’t appear to be that bad, however he used his inner powers to be safe. Once that was done, he quickly applied the powder to disinfect the wound, waited a bit, applied a salve, and quickly bandaged up the wound. It seemed that Marz would again be around to fight another battle, regardless of what he told the youth.

He quickly attended to Isobel who was unconscious. After doing a quick check of her system, he noted that she had been poisoned, but it had been neutralized in thanks to Argus’ intervention. “Good job Argus,” Valhorek stated, as he quickly applied a salve to her wound, and then bandaged it. He took out a small vial, and held it under her nose. If she weren’t too bad off, the smell would make her wake up. Although not a pleasant smell, the little vial did wonders for those who were unconscious.

He left her in Argus’ care as he explained that both patients had been bandaged. He quickly picked up his bow, and started aiming at the enemy once again.

Corum, Marz, and Tristan. The three musketeers, at least that’s how he envisioned them. The three of them fought valiantly, that is until Tristan became TRISTAN, and everyone else simply became toast, literally. Damn but he could do one hell of a job as a dragon. Then he started to snap spider people’s heads off, and spitting them into the ground. Like truly impressive. But then somehow Marz got injured, and arrows started to fly downwards on them, and Tristan got injured. That was not a nice move, especially since there were more spider people moving on the two of them.

“IT’S CLOBBERIN TIME!!!!!!” Corum yelled out. He ran out, and before the spider creature had any idea of what was happening, Corum swung at the creature’s feet, flipping it over, and bashing Yorik’s skull into its midsection, or head, or neck, whatever was closest. One of the creeps tried to move in on Tristan. “Aw naw you don’t,” Corum stated rushing toward the new opponent. The spider creature didn’t even see him coming, and the youth swung Yorik into the creature’s skull, smashing it quite nicely as it fell to the ground. “And stay dead!” Corum warned, while winking at Tristan.

The youth stayed around Tristan, trying to help the dragon as best as he could. No how, and no way would anyone get near the dragon. He knew Tristan was powerful, but sometimes people had to rely on others, and right now, Corum was the other, and he was having a wonderful time bashing in the heads of the opponents. One would come, and it would go down, only to be replaced by another.

He spotted one of the victims on the other side of Tristan, and realized he’d never get to the creature in time. He let his instincts get the better of him, and he quickly moved into action. He quickly rolled under Tristan until he got to the other side, and spotted the hairy legs of the creature. “HEY ASSHOLE!” Corum yelled diverting the creature’s attention to him. Before the creature even knew what hit him, Corum swung in a wide arc tripping the spider, and making it fall on its side. Corum quickly moved out from beneath Tristan, and plunged the butt of the staff, into its groin. “Not with my friend you don’t!” Corum yelled, as he drove his staff into the creature once again, ending its life. “You ok Tris?” Corum asked as he kept looking around, and trying to help the dragon out.

The cry for getting the archers grabbed Erlic’s attention. Someone, and he had to figure it was Jade made easy work as he spotted flames coming from one of the stalagmites opposite from where he was stationed. He didn’t know if anyone had seen the mage use her spells, and he hoped they didn’t since Jade wanted to retain her secret for a bit longer. Considering the disadvantage they were at, any help was greatly appreciated.

He spotted two lone figures secretly coming out of one of the houses, and noted they had bows. He quickly moved around the stalagmites trying to hide himself until he was within range. He quickly withdrew a white pebble from his pouch, and waited for just the right moment. Just as they were about to fire, probably on his friends, Erlic called out to them drawing their attention to him. As they turned, the guild master simply smiled, and threw the little white pebble into their midst. As soon as it landed it exploded just enough to blind the two archers. Erlic then pulled out two shurikens, and lunged them into their throats killing them instantly.

He had now made his way deeper into enemy territory, and it was best that he get himself back to some form of safety. He started to make a dash run, combining them with rolls as he paused every few minutes to throw more shurikens at his opponents. That’s when two of the female spiders came upon him, one from each direction. He kept his eyes warily on both of them realizing they both carried the pikes with the tainted tips. Judging by the looks in their eyes, one would attack, and then the other, rather than attack at the same time.

He shifted just a bit, and patiently waited, caring not to make the first move. He didn’t have long to wait as the first tried to jab him. He managed to grab the wooden end of the pike, and with his other hand came down in a Lotus hand strike, breaking the weapon in half. He grabbed the one end with the pike end on it, and hurled it into the other assailant, embedding it into the victim’s chest. He moved quickly on the weaponless spider creature, and snapped her head viciously. He quickly grabbed a dagger, and finished off the other opponent.

He picked up his weapons, and came back to join the others, coming directly next to Jade, who in her most lovable way explained, “Great fun now, darling.”

He moved to remove some of the other blood off of her other cheek, and quickly gave her a kiss. “Nice job…especially when one is having fun,” was all he stated smiling at her. He then turned to see if the others needed any help.
