“I’m so glad you’re still in one piece,” Erlic said with a grin. “Wouldn’t have been more fun if you weren’t.” Jade's answering smile was soon smothered by the kiss Erlic bestowed on her. She returned it, however brief, and smiled to herself as he helped her up. She wouldn't mind pursuing this later, but right now there was the little matter of this strange house to attend to.

They moved cautiously back to the house, and Jade almsot chuckled at the sight of Erlic popping into the doorway for a look, then ducking back quickly. There were no further fireballs forthcoming, and they made their way inside the house.

Jade looked around, her dagger at the ready just in case. She was somewhat surprised that the place looked so ordinary. But then, the spider-men must have spent most of their time in their more human forms, so it made sense.

They came upon another doorway that appeared to be locked. Jade kept herself to the side of the doorway, ready to spring if something attacked. Erlic checked the door for traps and, finding none, opened the door, moving quickly out of the way in case there was another little surprise like that fireball. Fortunately there was none and the two of them entered what appeared to be a library. Jade felt a little thrill of excitement. Perhaps this was where she would find what she had come for.

She moved along the shelves, looking at the books but not touching any yet in case of traps. “Is there anything here that strikes your fancy?” Erlic asked as he gazed at the books.

Jade grinned at him. "I bet I can find something for late night reading."

She moved along the shelves, examining each title. Some were in a language she didn't recognize. Others were apparently religious tomes. There was a book on poisons that could be useful. "You might want to take a look at this one, darling." She said, having seen him collecting the spider venom earlier, though she was sure he thought he'd gone unobserved.

At last she came upon one shelf that held books of spells. She grinned. "Spell books." She turned to him, eyes glittering. "Do you do magic?"

She hadn't seen the book she was looking for here, but these spell books would come in handy, once she had the time to sit down and study them.
