Subject: Do you really like being a genie?
In reply to: Saras 's message, "oops.." on 17:31:07 03/10/02 Sun

Marz nearly choked on his candy bar when Saras said that genies were always hot because he was no longer used to hearing such honesty any more. Residents of Bizmar were always blunt about sexual things but Marz soon learned that most other people had a lot of hang-ups about sex. Hell, most of the members of this group, including Tristan, turned beat red at the sight of a naked body, acting as if it was something foreign. Marz just couldn't understand their discomfort over something so natural. He believed that people would be a lot better off if they stopped trying to deny and suppress their sensual thoughts. Sex was a normal part of life so why did some view it as dirty, disgusting, and something to feel ashamed about?

When Saras started rambling on about there not being any female of male genies, Marz frowned. That was definitely a concept he couldn't understand. Either you is or you isn't, as Corum would say. As far as Marz was concerned, genies had to have a gender even if it was one they chose to adapt for themselves otherwise they'd be nothing more than inanimate objects. Because he viewed Saras as a girl, that's what she would remain in his mind. Besides it only made sense that if genies got to make themselves appear the way they wanted to appear, why would they allow themselves to have missing body parts? If someone was going to assume the identity of a human they might as well go all the way without leaving anything out.

Marz almost laughed when Saras told him that she was incapable of love because he thought the same thing about himself once. He took another bite of the candy then pulled a can of Pepsi from Jeremy's pack. After struggling with it a bit, he finally got it opened and took a long drink, shocking himself with the loud belch that followed. The stuff certainly made the inside of his stomach feel like a pool of boiling lava.

He shrugged when Saras asked him how he knew when he loved Tristan. "Actually, it kind of snuck up on me. I guess I realized it must be love when I started to feel incomplete whenever Tristan wasn't around. Kinda like now. It's a weird feeling, but you'd know it when you feel it, trust me."

Marz finished off his candy then squeezed out his hair, being careful not to splash Saras since she didn't seem to like water very much. "Do you really like being a genie? I mean, it don't sound like much fun to me to come out of a lamp every now and then just to be a slave to some human and his wishes. Did you ever wonder what it would be like to be one of us humans?"
