The smell and heat of the java under her nose finally penetrated her sleep and Jade opened one eye, looking at the cup then looking up at Erlic. She grinned, stretched languidly, and sat up, the blanket falling down from her chest. She took the cup of java and sipped it gratefully.

"Thank you, darling. What a lovely thing to wake up to. And I don't just mean the java," she winked as she took another sip.

Briefly she let herself wonder what would happen once Erlic's party had found their branches and she'd found the book she'd been commissioned to retrieve. Would they simply go their separate ways? The thought disturbed her for some reason. She pushed it to the back of her mind.

"So, darling... what's on the agenda for now? Searching another building?" She patted the bed next to her, beckoning him to sit down. When he did, she leaned over and kissed his jaw, his whiskers feeling slightly prickly on her lips. She found she didn't mind the feeling at all. In fact, she rather liked it.
