Rowan glanced at the flicker of movement in the corner of his eye, frowning when he saw Jeremy. The boy had a worried look on his face, and that in turn worried him. I really care way too much for that kid, he thought, shaking his head slightly. He really shouldn’t have let himself succumb to temptation the way he had, since indulging in a fantasy usually only served to allow an infatuation to increase. He of all people ought to have known that.

His thoughts didn’t stick on those few very intimate minutes he’d spent with Jeremy for long, though. Naturally, he laughed at the kid’s ridiculous sounding advice, no matter how kindly intentioned it may have been. He tried to quiet himself down and look serious, but he almost lost it again when Jeremy mentioned something about Marz almost being “tempted” by him at one point. Well, that settles it! he thought, rolling his eyes and unable to hide his grin. If he almost slipped up with Jeremy, he must be desperate!

He rose an eyebrow when the kid complimented his progress with Tia. Little guy had a lot of spunk in him to remark about something like that. But his eyebrows nearly disappeared into his hair when Jeremy suddenly grinned and offered himself as a substitute again, should the “conquest” of Tia prove too difficult.

Knowing the boy wasn’t expecting it, he reached out automatically and ran two fingers down his cheek, his thumb lingering over his lips. Abruptly, the space between them vanished, and Rowan pulled his head down toward his, pressing their mouths together for a long, passionate kiss. He almost backed away laughing when he felt how quickly the boy’s body started to react to the proddings of his tongue, but he collected himself enough so that when he finally did pull back, he was only grinning.

“Sure thing, baby,” he purred, winking at the suddenly hungry expression in Jeremy’s face. “Anytime you’re ready, I’d be glad to have another go at it.” Quickly, his experienced hand moved to stroke at the boy’s stomach before dropping below his belt and brushing lightly through the material of his pants.

“So you tried everything with Marz, hmm? Still think I can’t do it, then?” He grinned naughtily and kissed the heavily breathing boy on the cheek before turning and leaving him to himself. He threw his head back and laughed when he saw Saras approach the kid, perfectly oblivious to his condition, and proceed to ask him a rather uncomfortable question. “Why don’t you ask him to show you himself what the demon’s holding?” he called to the genie over his shoulder, laughing anew at the confused look on the creature’s face.

By now, the others had gone ahead, so before he got left behind, Rowan hurried after them. He paused slightly just past the entrance, though, his hands fingering his swords as he waited for Jeremy and Saras to eventually catch up. If Marz wanted to play at being leader, that was fine. But Rowan would just make damned sure everyone who went into this temple came back out of it—alive and well, too.
