Isobel swore loudly as Marz knocked her to the ground, but it quickly became apparent why he did it as the chunks of roof came raining down around them. She hissed as she felt something cut her arm, but it did not seem to be much more than a scratch, so she ignored it. After a few moments she looked up at Marz. "Thank you for saving me from the roof, but I believe the danger has passed," she said as he continued to lay on her. She chuckled as he got up and went over to comfort that weepy genie. She never saw anyone cry so much in her life!

She stood up, brushing plaster off her clothing, and looked around for Ravin. He was sitting on some rubble holding his head. Quickly she picked her way over to him and arrived just as Valhorek was fixing up his wounds. "That is quite a bump, Seņor Ravin," she said. Then she made a face as Val immediately began working on her arm. "Ay! It is only a scratch! You are such a mother hen." But she let him put his powders and bandages on it. It probably made him feel good to do this sort of thing.

Ravin tossed some sort of trap-disarming device to Jade, who went to work on the altar. Apparently she had missed something, as Marz had somehow sprung a trap there when she wasn't looking. She was surveying the area again. Her eyes widened as Jade and Marz moved the altar, revealing some sort of passage. But the enormous, man-sized spider emerging from the passage was what held her attention. "That is a very large spider," she commented calmly, drawing her sword.

*~*~*~*~*

Jade had been admiring Erlic's handiwork with the Sharms when she heard Marz cry out and turned to see him flying back against the wall swearing about a trap.

She caught the device Ravin tossed her and hurried over to the altar. Well, at least now she didn't have to use hers. "Where is the trap?" she asked Marz. He showed her the little lever and she nodded, pointing Ravin's stone at it. "Taz!" she said and thought she saw a brief flash. "Well, I hope that's done it..." she murmured, and flicked the lever.

A loud rumbling noise filled the room and she was half afraid it would send some more of the crumbling ceiling down on them, but fortunately only a few pieces of plaster fell harmlessly. Then she noticed a gap at the base of the altar that hadn't been there before. "Help me shove this, will ya?" she said to Marz, and together they gave it a great heave. The altar slid out, revealing a stairway down into darkness.

"Well... doesn't that look inviting?" she said with a huge grin as she tossed Ravin back his stone. "Hope no one's too claustrophobic... looks like a tight fit. Single file all the way down." She reached out and cleared away a large cobweb. Just as she drew back her hand a gigantic spider emerged from the darkness, climbing out into the room.

Jade leapt back, her dagger in her hand immediately. "I hate spiders!" She hissed as she slashed at a huge leg with her dagger. There was a flash and the leg was severed, causing the spider to squeal in pain. It shot some sort of sticky substance at her, pinning her to the wall as it advanced. "Well, dammit... I hate this part," she said sourly as she tried to cut herself free before the thing took a bite out of her.
