Valhorek simply gave Isobel a stern look that stated you do your job, and I’ll do mine, before finishing up with the other victims that had taken damage. He didn’t like to take chances, and regardless of how minor, or major a wound was, there was no telling what they would encounter next. This much he had learned from the many years he had spent traveling with various adventurers.

When he finished he watched as Marz went to investigate the altar, only to be hurdled backwards against a wall. When he tried to help the youth, he could tell by the colorful words Marz used that he was still in good condition, and there was no need for him to intervene. Marz was like that, and he had to give the youth credit for his amazing stamina, when others would simply have been knocked out.

Marz joined Jade, and managed to finally move the altar, only to have a spider appear. He was about to go and help when suddenly Erlic was there fighting it on its own. He didn’t bother to help one he spotted more of the spiders coming out of the area in the floor. He quickly wielded his two-handed long sword, and went in for the battle, taking careful precautions not to get bitten. There was no telling how venomous the poison from these creatures would be, and if he did get bitten, the healing would have to be taken over by Argus. He was glad now more than ever, that there were two healers within their midst.

Valhorek avoided the bites, and swung the long bladed sword at the creature’s legs, trying to cripple it. Eventually he wound up severing several of its legs before it could move no longer. He stabbed the creature several times before it died.

Corum, and Barry, had fortunately avoided the crumbling pieces of ceiling that had injured some of their friends. Everything seemed to be fine until Marz went flying through the air with the greatest of ease, only to hit a wall. “And he tells me to watch out for traps,” Corum stated to Barry when Marz let out a volley of wonderful descriptive words describing the cursed trap. He waited as Marz, and Jade moved the altar. “All right Barry!” Corum exclaimed. “Looks like its time to go exploring a bit. Wait a minute…I think…..nope, I’m positive….but…..whoa dude! We got company. Do you know what time it is?” When he didn’t get a reply from the skull, Corum simply smiled, raised his staff, and hollered at the top of his lungs. “IT’S CLOBBERIN TIME!”

I've seen ghouls and hobgoblins and witches, and some moth-eaten werewolves with fangs. There were creatures that chattered and others that clattered, and Japanese monsters with fangs (ah-so). Frankenstein gives me the shakes, and Count Dracula's driving me batty, but they're not on a par with the worst one by far, the cockroach that ate Cincinnati (ha ha ha ha!)

Corum didn’t understand Yorik as of late. This wasn’t a cockroach, it was a damned spider. Although maybe it was part of the spider family, and maybe that’s what Yorik meant, but he sure had a weird way of explaining things.

But anyway, Corum jumped into the fray, and quickly started to swing toward the creature. He was doing fairly well, until one of its legs tripped him, and he went down. The creature quickly tried to cover him, and was ready to sink its fangs into his legs. Without thinking, something that Corum was quite used to, he quickly raised Yorik into the beast’s midsection, and strained with all his might, managing to lift the creature just enough to avoid getting bitten. Now that he held the creature at bay he had to figure out a way out of the mess. Barry soon came to the rescue as he managed to divert the creature’s attention by sending some strange bugs on top of the creature’s eyes. Whatever they were it worked, and Corum was able to quickly roll out of the way.

Corum finally got back to his feet, and this time managed to pummel the spider with numerous blows, eventually, with the help of Barry of course, sink it to its knees, and ending its miserable life forever.

Uh-uh don't touch that dial! I must offer to you a confession. I like movies that give me a fright. If the subject is horror I got to see more or I won't be contented all night. You may call it my ghoulish obsession.
It's a subject on which I get chatty. But the worst one it seems haunting all of my dreams was the cockroach that ate Cincinnati (ha ha ha ha)
.

Erlic felt the pain that Marz felt as the youth accidentally triggered off a spell. Fortunately the youth wasn’t hurt drastically, but it seemed like his pride was. Both he, and Jade had managed to get the altar to move, and upon doing so, unleashed the hiding place of a spider. Jade quickly started to engage in combat with the creature, severing one of its legs, but angered it enough where it entwined the woman with its sticky web material, pinning her against a wall.

The guild master moved into action, trying to strike before the spider did. He quickly grabbed his Kyoketsuogi, which hung at his belt. It was a weapon that consisted of a simple length of rope with a sharp hooked blade at one end, and a heavy iron ring at the other. The rope could be swung to attack with the blade or weight, snapped around the feet or arms to entangle, thrown like a bola, or held while striking with a knife. Erlic was already swinging the weapon over his head, and finally let loose as the knife-edge swung around three of the spider’s legs. He pulled hard forcing the spider to the ground temporarily. He reached Jade’s side, and quickly cut through her bonds with his katana. By the time he was finished, the spider was getting out of the trap that Erlic had managed to set with the unusual weapon.

He quickly pushed Jade aside, and swung his katana, severing another leg, and quickly rolled out of the way before the fangs could penetrate his skin. As soon as he came up from his roll, he spied his Kyoketsuogi, and quickly grabbed it. He moved back, and started to swing the blade of the weapon over his head as the spider approached him. This time when he let the blade fly, it swung several times against two of the spider’s legs. Erlic pulled as hard as he could, and managed to cut through the creature’s leg, thus injuring it further. As the creature tried to move against its bonds, Erlic moved into action, cutting through another leg. This time he wasted no time in plunging his weapon deep into the backside of the spider, over, and over again, until the creature died.

He quickly surveyed the area, and looked over to Jade to insure she was safe. He knew he didn’t have much time, but he would have to try and get some of the blood’s venom before its body became completely cold. Normally he would have only ten minutes, and hoped that he could siphon some of the creature’s venom for the making of any future poisons. Of course it would not have to be done indiscreetly, for Erlic could simply state he was taking the poison to sell to a mage. The magic users used the venom of many creatures for some of their spells. Of course Erlic didn’t have to tell them the truth. He was, after all, an assassin.

He picked up his Kyoketsuogi, and hung it by his belt, looking for any further signs of trouble.
