Somewhere along the road of life, Corum had managed, unbeknownst to him, to slip into a tent. Although at the time he wasn’t sure who’s tent it was, he somehow managed to lay down, and was promptly asleep. Marz, and Tristan had vanished to their own area, Ravin had been injured, and he decided it was best that he simply get out of the way, and get some sleep.

A couple hours later he did finally manage to get up. He was groggy, and still tired, but most of all, he was quite hungry. After wiping the sleep from his eyes, and making sure he was well awake, there had been times when he wound up walking around, and didn’t know it, he picked up his backpack, and headed toward the food tent.

There he helped himself to good portions of the variety of food that had made itself available. He also fed Brat, and Eye, making sure that they didn’t go around hungry, although he was sure they could find anything they needed without any problem.

On his way back he spotted Barry. “YO DUDE!” he hollered at the floating skull. “Like where have you been man? I get it, trying to pick up a couple of those Jann women right? I figured as much. So did you get any action? “Anyway, I’m headed back to the campsite. Seems like we’re gonna be leaving this area like real quick. No sense in getting left behind, right? Right! C’mon, let’s do it.”

He finally made his way to the campsite, where it seemed the whole crew had gathered. Wait, Justin wasn’t around, which made the ecology quite safe, at least for the moment. But he had spoken to soon for the merc made his way to the campsite, distributing his stink to everyone within a ten-mile radius of him.

Once seated, Corum looked around, and spotted the newcomer. He had place a bit of food in his mouth, and had stopped chewing as he stared at her….no him….no her….no…… Now he wasn’t sure what he/she or it was. Where was he when all of this transpired anyway? He always got left out in the cold when it came to meeting new people. Yeah, he had seen the person, but from a far distance. Now up close he….she…it was……different? Yeah, that sounded safe, different. He took a look at Yorik. He was glad that the skull didn’t have that stupid make up on anymore. OK, so perhaps the skull talked out of his head once in a while, but at least it was Corum’s friend. “You have any idea what he…she…it is?” Corum whispered to Yorik.

Never judge a book by it's cover, or who you gonna love by your lover. Sayin' love put me wise to her love in disguise. She had the body of a Venus, Lord imagine my surprise. Dude, dude, dude looks like a lady.

Corum turned to face Yorik. “You know, for once I think you’re right.”

Valhorek had checked in on Ravin several times during the course of the night. There was one instance when Isobel had helped the thief get some water. He must have just stepped out when Ravin had awoken, but was thankful for Isobel’s help.

He had managed to pack his things, and was ready to check in on Ravin again, when he spotted Isobel slowly helping the thief toward the campsite. Val realized that the man was strong, and quite spirited; he only hoped that he’d be able to survive the wars of traveling, especially in his condition.

Considering the thief had a few hours of sleep, it was best that Val prepare something that would help ease his pain. The healer had prepared the dosage earlier so that it would be ready once the thief awoke. He made his way to the campsite, and poured a cup of water, mixing in the various herbs, and tea to give it a bit of a flavor.

He handed the cup to Ravin. “Take this, and drink it slowly,” the healer suggested. “It’ll help relieve your pain, help you regain some of your strength, but without the aftereffects of making you very drowsy.”

Valhorek was please that Ravin took the cup, although he was sure that the man would probably complain about the awful taste that it would leave in his mouth once he started to drink the concoction. But then again, that was very commonplace with Val since all medicines tended to taste on the bitter side. However, the up side to all of this was that the herbs did help, and that was all that mattered.

Val helped himself to a cup of java, while listening to the conversation of the group.

Once Erlic was satisfied that Ravin would be fine, he made it a point to gather his gear, and make sure everything was packed. He then started to walk around, taking careful precautions not to stare in any given direction, but to make sure that his peripheral vision took in anything out of the ordinary. Chances were quite good that there would be other assassins coming after them, and he wanted to be prepared. Even now he carried several daggers, and shurikens, all placed in special locations so that he wouldn’t use them. All of them had been covered in a poison that would either kill them, or slow them down considerably. Having an edge was quite important at this time, especially with one comrade badly injured. He had relied on Ravin’s instincts, and excellent thieving capability to insure that it would be somewhat difficult get the jump on them.

Now, Ravin was injured, and the only positive aspect was that the Jann would be traveling with them. This would indeed increase their numbers, which again, would be just enough to thwart the assassins, that is, until nighttime came to pass. Even with the added numbers of the Jann, Erlic didn’t think that any of them were as professional enough to insure the safety of everyone. Everyone with the exception of himself, and now Rowan.

The elf had proven himself to be well versed in his occupation, although why he hadn’t mention it in the past, Erlic couldn’t answer. Erlic would have to rely on Rowan to watch the lead, for Ravin would be in no condition to take on a frontal assault if one should arise. It would only add further injury to his current, but temporary impairment. He realized that Ravin wouldn’t take no for an answer, and the guild master would have to think of a better reason for not letting the man lead. Then again, Erlic also realized that Ravin could be quite stubborn when he wanted to be.

That only left himself, and Rowan. The others, although not proficient in the art of assassination, stealth, and the other requirements that went with it, would still be able to supply the fighting portion needed to stay alive should a battle ensue, regardless whether it be man, or monster. He only hoped that Rowan could live up to his expectations. Again, the elf had proven himself this night, and the guild master hoped that he could continue to do so. Erlic had taken note of Rowan’s caution to not let Laurel in on their secret. He had decided it was probably beneficial to all involved to simply remain as competent fighters, thief, what have you. At least the suspicion of an assassin in their midst would go undiscovered.

After taking a good look at the perimeter around the Jann camp, without actually being noticed, although there was the possibility that other assassins were about, he returned to the campsite after noticing the extra activity within the camp. It was quite obvious that they would be leaving shortly.

He sat down, and helped himself to the java. He watched Ravin, but not intently. He was sure his friend wouldn’t approve of being pitied, so Erlic kept his thoughts to himself. It was at this time he got a better glimpse of the newcomer. Hearing the name Saras, Erlic wondered at the true nature of the individual. He also realized that when the time came, he would probably learn more about Saras. Right now he had more important thoughts on his mind, and that was the welfare of the group, as well as the constant threat of the assassins. It would be a long night, if nothing else.
