Subject: Eating and trying to stay warm
In reply to: Isobel 's message, "Good deed for the day" on 11:28:24 01/17/02 Thu

Ravin tried not to show how much pain he was in while he struggled to sit up. Immediately, Isobel rushed to aid him. He gave her a smile in thanks since he didn't trust his voice yet. By the time they reached the fire, he had his pain under control somewhat and was able to answer when she asked him if he would like anything from the food tent.

Once she hurried off, he checked his gear, making sure that all his throwing knives were in their proper place. He winced as he reached over for his backpack, pulling out the cloak that Erlic had bought him in Jayib. Damn, it was cold! And the frigid temperature seemed to add to the weakness he felt. Hopefully, Val could give him something to help him feel a little more normal. At least I'm alive he thought, remembering how quickly that assassin moved. Normally, he would have rolled out of the way of a blade flying at him but he never even saw that one coming! Either that assassin was damn good or I'm getting slow.

Since any amount of movement made his chest hurt, it took a lot of determination to get the cloak wrapped around him. Once he had it in place, he turned his attention to the others that sat around the campfire. He nodded to Marz and Tristan then smiled at Tia before turning his eyes to Isobel, who was returning with her hands laden with food. Without thinking, Ravin tried to rise to give her a hand, but plopped back down when pain shot across his chest.

Apparently, Isobel didn't notice his discomfort and he was grateful for that. He accepted the mug of java from her and took a sip, the hot liquid warming him instantly. When she mentioned the camels he frowned since he had never ridden on one before. It couldn't be much harder than riding on an undead Roc now could it? Mounting the beast might be a bit of a problem for him at the moment though.

He chuckled softly when she mentioned Justin then took a sausage from the plate. The thief was never much of an eater and was sure it would be enough to curb his appetite for quite some time. As he chewed the meat he thought about Saras and wondered where the genie had gotten off to. Since he wasn't knowledgeable about genie lore, he didn't know that Saras had to stay with him until he granted him some wishes. Maybe he went to find himself a new lamp since he doesn't seem to like that flask very much.
