Sarosh had been watching the newcomer with confusion and fear. He did not trust magic. His own, other others, so he looked on what had happened with suspicion. Although he felt uneasy, as he had when Barry had first floated around him, he was growing more at ease, the longer the man stood there seemingly harmless to them.

Sarosh smiled and gave Marz a wave as he left and turned back to listen to the man’s strange words, trying to make them out but having little luck. Other’s seemed to be having luck however, which meant all seemed to be ok. He listened a while longer, surprised when Tia pushed him out of the way. Stumbling somewhat.

"Could someone please start a fire for java?" Tia said. Sure that this was meant to get Saras out of the way, and quite uncertain as to why, Sarosh nodded, feeling a bit hurt that Tia felt the need to drive him off for some reason. “I’ll go…” he said, lowering his eyes. He looked over at Ravin and gave a weak, somewhat hurt smile. “If you need me, or have a wish, just call…” he said, lowering his head and walking off.

Even if I’m a useless genie, at least I can be helpful SOME way…

With his mind hurt as to why Tia had pushed herself between himself and Ravin, Sarosh headed to the fire pit. He knelt down and added a piece of wood. Closing his eyes and clasping his hands together he said a brief prayer. The tips of his red hair glowed briefly like embers of a fire. He moved his hands down and opened them, letting a tiny flickering flame slide from within them to the piece of wood where it danced uncertainly.

“There you go little flame…” he said as if the flame were a small animal or child. “It’s ok. Won’t you grow big and keep all of us warm?” he asked, almost coaxingly. As if to answer, the little flame began to grow until it was a small but heartily burning fire. Sarosh smiled warmly and added several pieces of wood, before moving back, proud of himself.

“At least I can do something right…” he said with a smile, still regarding the flame, happy that at least that little power hadn’t abandoned him.
