"Don't worry about a thing, Saras," Marz whispered. "If he's evil we'll kill him and hang his head on a pike for the vultures to feast on." He gave the genie a kiss on the cheek then moved a little away from her so he could get a better look at the newcomer. The man didn't look too bad, and as long as he didn't stink like Justin, Marz wouldn't mind having him around if he wanted to stay.

After a few minutes of listening to what the man had to say though, he got aggravated because he couldn't understand half of the shit that poured from his mouth. Since Marz had no idea what this wati was that he kept asking for, he had half a mind to give him a knuckle sandwich to see it that would satisfy him. When Laurel handed him some water, Marz rolled his eyes. So, that's what the idiot had been going on about, huh?

He rubbed at his aching head, yawned then walked away, unable to deal with the man's weird speech any longer. A sound made him look down, his mouth cracking a smile when he saw the cat by his feet. "Hey there, pretty," he said, scooping it into his arms. He stroked the animal's fur while walking along; finally taking a seat under a nearby tree that would shade him from the hot sun.

"I got a pet ferret running around here someplace," he told the cat. "I think you two will get along just great." After another yawn, he apologized to the animal. "I'm not bored with you, pretty. The bath I took earlier must have tired me out is all." He dug into his pack and unwrapped a small chuck of cheese. "You'd think that someone would have gotten a fire going and started some java brewing wouldn't you?" he asked, handing a piece of cheese to the cat before popping one into his mouth. When he head footsteps, he looked up to see Tia walking toward him, carrying all her belongings in her arms. The thief looked pretty cute in her soaking wet undergarments!

"Ohhh, a kitty!" she cried, tossing her items to the ground and falling to her knees before him. Immediately, she began scratching the cat behind its ears and when it started to purr loudly, they both laughed. "Where's Tristan? I thought him and Corum came back here to talk."

Marz shrugged. "Hell if I know. The idiot got scared off by a couple of fleas!"

A frown crossed Tia's face. She knew she should have been the one to run off after Tristan, but Corum beat her to it! Judging from Marz's attitude, the dragon probably needed a friend to talk to about now. She rummaged through her pack and pulled out a small cloth, using it to dry herself off the best she could. "Who's that guy standing over there by the others?"

Again Marz shrugged. "Dunno, but he talks like he's got a load a crap in his mouth."

Tia laughed then threw her clothes on over her damp undergarments. Considering how hot the sun got, she'd be dry again in no time! "I'm going to go check out the new guy and see if he talks as funny as you say he does."

Marz gave her a nod then handed the cat another small piece of cheese. "Hey Tia," he called out after her. "Can you ask someone to start a fire and put some java on?" Although he knew how to make java, no one ever showed him how to make a campfire.

"Will do, Marz," the petite thief quipped before running off and pushing her way between Saras and Ravin. "Could someone please start a fire for java?" she called out, before quieting down and anxiously waiting to hear the newcomer say something.
