Subject: More explanations
In reply to: Argus, Isobel, and Barry 's message, "Some answers, some questions" on 03:37:59 01/26/02 Sat

After having walked back to the campsite, and getting Argus some food, Val sat down with him, and tried to explain what he could. Holding the injured falcon in his arms, he looked at the stranger. “I don’t know of this Kelkenny that you speak of. I’ve traveled the lands here quite often, and I’m not acquainted by its name.”

Val realized that perhaps his initial hunch was true, and that somehow, the man had stepped out of a portal of some sorts. From what Barry had told him, along with Argus, those creatures that were trapped on the other side of the portal seemed quite a threat, not only to Argus, but also to all those present within the campsite. Perhaps it would do them good to bury it very deep. A better idea was to coat the mirrored surface with a substance similar to black grease. That way it would harden, and whatever was on the other side would not be able to view this particular side of the world.

“So tell me,” Val said as he gently laid the bird on the ground, while rummaging for some spare clothes. “What is the name of the land that you come from, and why were those things trying to capture you? Did you perhaps commit a crime of sorts, or is it simply that way on the world that you come from?” He handed Argus the spare clothes for his use.

Corum had been watching in rapt amusement, and had decided to follow Val, and the stranger back to the camp. As Val was talking, Corum took a seat next to the healer, and listened as he poured himself a cup of java. This was quite cool as far as the youth was concerned, considering no one of real interest, with the exception of Barry of course, had ever made an entrance into their world before.

Barry was quite strange, but was quite cool, since he floated away, and did whatever he pleased to do, without having any bad feelings of his actions. Corum appreciated that, and figured he could learn something from the skull. But now the stranger intrigued him as well. He was different, he was unusual, and, from what he had gathered, wasn’t from this world. Of course Tristan wasn’t from this world, but the dragon spoke normally, and this guy was….well…..strange.

When I look over my shoulder, what do you think I see? Some other cat looking over his shoulder right at me. And it’s strange. Surely strange. You got to pick up every stitch. Beatniks are out to make it rich. Oh, no, must be the season of the witch. Must be the season of the witch.

Corum had to agree with Yorik on that one. This was one strange person.

“Hey there,” Corum piped up. “My name is Corum, and this here,” pointing to his staff, “is Yorik. So, are you like gonna be traveling with us or what? Inquiring minds really want to know, you know.”
