In reply to: Tia, Justin, and Jeremy 's message, "Where those screams we heard?" on 18:55:11 12/18/01 Tue

It was quite evident that Isobel hadn’t liked his answer as she strode of back to the campfire. Erlic couldn’t blame her considering the current situation. He was sure that if he were a newcomer, he wouldn’t be comfortable remaining at the camp considering all that had transpired.

Right after Isobel had left, Tia joined him once again, looking a bit more somber than her usual cheery self. He couldn’t blame her or anyone for that matter, things were not going, as they should. Erlic realized that eventually the assassins would come out looking for them, and it meant that everyone would have to be on the alert. Hopefully the assassins gathered at this mountain were not as proficient as the slayers who worked for the grandfather of assassins. If the slayers were after them, there would definitely be cause for concern.

Erlic was about to respond to Tia’s question about the reward for Alakbar when he heard the screaming coming from the cave, as well as the feeling of broken bones coursing through his body due to the link he shared with Marz. It was quite evident that all was not as it was supposed to be. He quickly followed behind Tia, and surveyed the scene inside the cave. Isobel had just managed to hoist an almost unconscious Marz out of the water, as a huge beast tried its best to kill off its adversaries.

The assassin could see that Marz was indeed conscious, and swearing, which only meant the youth, despite any injuries he might have sustained, was aggravated, more than likely at not getting a chance at the beast. Erlic spotted Tristan in the water trying to fend off one of the tentacles, and wondered why the dragon didn’t bother to move away. It was then that he spotted the chain in the water somehow attached to Tristan. Erlic pulled out some necessary tools, and dove into the water, eventually reaching the area behind Tristan. He took a deep breath of air, and submerged himself near Tristan. Although the water was starting to get murky, he could see the chain attached to Tristan. He quickly went to work on it with the lock pick, and soon had Tristan free. Once he surfaced he yelled to Tristan. “All right you’re free”

Erlic made it back out of the water, and surveyed the scene once more. Tia was almost unconscious as she was battered about by the creature’s tentacle. Corum as trying to do his best to combat the creature. Ravin was trying to avoid the flying tentacles that strove to grab the limber thief, and Isobel was doing her best to slow down the creature.

The assassin gathered up his chi, and focused it into an area in his hand. Once he was ready, he opened his eyes to survey the scene one more time. His only concern at the moment would have been Ravin, who might get hurt from the mystical blast. “Ravin, roll!” Erlic yelled. His comrade complied with his wishes, which gave Erlic the moment he needed. With complete concentration he kept his arm outstretched with his palm facing the beast. A bolt of power soon streaked out of his palm impaling itself into the creature, and stunning it temporarily. Under normal circumstances a bolt of such magnitude would have easily killed a man, but this was a very large creature, and it was going to take a lot more to end its life.

It was then that Erlic spotted Ravin, who was now much closer to him, pull out what looked like shurikens. Seeing the manner the thief threw the distance weapons gave the assassin cause for alarm. “Ravin, don’t use them,” he yelled. Erlic realized that Ravin would have a cut up hand just from the manner he handled the weapon. He would have to talk to his friend, and teach him the proper way to handle, and throw the deadly weapons.

The guild master’s hands were already on his own shurikens, as he let four of them fly toward the beast, hitting it in various parts of the head.

Corum was just beginning to enjoy the erotic feeling that was coursing through his whole body. He owed Marz big time for this when suddenly the women started to bit a bit too hard for his pleasure. Before he realized what had happened, something rather large, not to mention completely ugly, started to loom up out of the water.

Marz, and Tristan had already started to fight the creature, and Corum was doing his best to get at his staff. He was just about to retrieve it when the creature grabbed it. “YOU TOUCH A HAIR ON HIS HEAD, AND I’LL KILL YA!” Corum yelled. Somehow, someway, the creature dropped Yorik, and Corum dove to retrieve his staff. “It’s clobberin time!” he yelled out, moving his way toward the creature. Wham! Bash! Smack! “Take this you ugly, ugly, ugly thing!” Corum stated as he lashed out at the creature. One of the tentacles started to make its move toward him, and the youth quickly turned to face it. “No, no no,” Corum stated as suddenly a blast of fire erupted from Corum’s eyes, severing the thing’s tentacle. “Serve’s ya right for messin with the main man!”

Corum suddenly saw a bolt of something smash into the creature, temporarily stunning it. “You’re history, dude!” Corum stated as he started to bash at the thing, in any area he could. Over, and over he smashed through the thing, and a couple of times he thought he saw a flame or two erupt from Yorik’s eyes, but couldn’t be certain. Regardless, he continued to assault the creature, until it started to move once again.
