Isobel waited for something to happen, peering intently into the well. She hissed. "Nothing! But what else could it be?" She turned to Ravin and Erlic to see if they had any ideas, but her eyes fell on a door set into the cavern wall near where they had found themselves sitting just a few moments ago. "That was not there before!" She said as she headed for the door.

Erlic and Ravin looked but saw nothing. "What wasn't there before?" Ravin asked. But Isobel had already opened the door and entered. As far as Ravin and Erlic were concerned, she had disappeared.

Isobel found herself in a narrow but long cavern. At the end opposite the door was a statue of some sort - it looked like a minotaur to her. She turned back to the door to make sure the others were following, the the door was no longer there and there was no sign of her compadres. "Merde! This is not good." She hoped they had seen what she had done in the well and would copy her actions. She did not like the idea of facing whatever was at the end of this alone... on the other hand, more reward for her if she made it on her own. It was a difficult choice, whether to hope they would follow her or not. She decided it would be better if they did, for otherwise they would be trapped in there forever and she did not really wish that on them.

She shouted at the wall where the door had been, hoping perhaps they could hear her but not really expecting them to: "Hurry up and bleed into the well, you fools!" Then she turned her attention to the statue. As she headed for it she noticed that it was quite large and scattered at its feet were several enormous gems! They glittered in whatever sorcerous light lit the cavern, and she caught her breath. "Madre del Dios they are beautiful. And worth a fortune!" She picked up a red gem and turned it over and over in front of her eyes, looking at it. "Beautiful," she breathed again.

She looked back to see if the others were coming as she stuffed gems into her pouch. Then she turned back to the statue and noticed the inscription on the base.

Glittering, sparkling rainbow hues
To proceed you will need to choose
Take the treasure if you so desire
Restore my sight and live through fire
When you have chosen be on your way
Choose incorrectly and you must pay

Isobel sighed. Another puzzle. Well this one seemed fairly straight forward, at least. She fingered the gems, letting them fall through her fingers. Then she sighed and dumped the ones she had stuffed into her pouch back out on the pile. "Such a shame," she said. "And will those damnable men never get here?"
