Tia stared into the campfire while Tristan told her a little of his relationship with Marz. In a way, she was glad she wasn't involved with anyone, especially if it meant driving yourself crazy trying to keep your partner happy. No doubt she'd fail miserable at something like that since she had enough trouble keeping herself happy. Why couldn't relationships be perfect right from the start? That probably was too much too hope for because nothing in life was perfect, was it?

She took another bite of her apple then glanced over at Marz when Tristan said they fought all the time. That was pretty surprising news! Whenever Tia saw them together they seemed all right, except for the distance factor, which she found rather strange. Most couples she saw in various inns were practically all over one another, holding hands, kissing, and sharing whispered conversations. From what she could remember, nothing like that ever happened between Marz and Tristan. The casual observer would never be able to tell that they harbored deep feelings for one another.

"It might be a good thing that you guys fight all the time," she said after a time. "Maybe getting all the hostilities out of the way right off the bat will pave the way for future contentment or something." Tia frowned when she thought about what she said. "I'm not really the person to be giving out advice you know. I mean, I've never been in a relationship. I have this uncanny ability to turn a potential lover into a close friend, who starts to view me as only a sister figure."

She shrugged then finished off the rest of her apple. "At least you and Marz are still together after all that fighting you talked about so I guess that's a good sign, huh?" After a sip of the strange tasting Pepsi, she unwrapped the candy bar that Jeremy gave her and took a bite. "Ummm, this is delicious! I've heard some people say that chocolate is an aphrodisiac." She giggled then took another bite. "Well, it does make me feel all warm inside, but it doesn't make me crave sex at all. The only thing I find myself desiring is………..more chocolate!"

Marz grinned when Laurel told a grumpy-looking Rowan to move over. Once the elf complied with her wishes, Marz sat down beside the druidess and turned his complete attention to what she was saying. Of course that was difficult since his mind constantly flittered from one thing to another, but somehow he managed to stay focused.

He got a bit lost with all the notes that made up something called a scale, yet he picked up the cords with ease. Pressing down on the strings hurt the tips of his fingers a little, but that didn't bother him in the least. Over and over again, he strummed the song Laurel taught him. "I never knew music was so damned easy to learn!" he chirped.

Before Laurel had a chance to reply, Marz bolted up from the log. With the lute in hand, he rushed to where Tristan and the others sat around the campfire, stopping before Barry, who hovered near Corum. "Check this out, bonehead," he said, before going on to play the one song in his repertoire for the skull.

When he finished the tune, he knelt down near Tristan and played it again. "I am now a full fledged musician!" he announced happily while haphazardly strumming the lute. Tia winced at the awful sounds that now came from the instrument, but Jeremy smiled.

"Hey Marz," the otherworldly youth called. "I know the cords to an AC/DC tune!"

While the youth started rattled off the cords, Marz stared at him "I don't know all that shit yet!" he hissed. "But the song I know is good enough for everyone to dance to." He got to his feet then and started jumping around a little as he played the same tune yet again. Obviously, his ankle was a lot better since it didn't impede his movement.

When no one got up to dance he scowled, then stomped back to Laurel. "Nobody likes that song so teach me another one!" he commanded. "Oh, by the way sweetheart, I'm gonna have to keep your lute sos I have something to practice on!"

Tia laughed then turned to Tristan. "Marz seems pretty excited about learning music. I have a funny feeling that he's going to be so busy playing new songs for you that you guys won't have time for any more fights. And, that's a good thing, right?"
