Subject: To Play or not to play ... that is the decision

Being only available to play till Tea on Saturday due to a previous appoitment I decide to go to watch my two lads play for the firsts. Unfortunately Mike was asked to play for the seconds as one of the " I can play when I feel like it firsts" was available.

I still took the opportunity to see Si play and arrived at the ground just after the first over. On arrival I was informed that we only had 10 men so I duly offered my services if required ... I may have knocked a few runs. I was informed that I would not be needed as another player was coming would could play in both innings ... fair enough I thought.
Next I hear ( note not told) that the new player would not be playing and that we would play with 10 men.

I realise that I might not be up to the exacting standards set by the first 11 , but for them to feel it better to play with 10 rather than 11 batsman was a little disappointing.

The club is in danger of developing a wide divide between the two teams , and from Saturdays actions I can see why !

An explanation at the time might have been nice but it would have certainly been polite !!!!!!!!
