Subject: Remember how Buffy's death at the end of S5 could have been a perfect ending?

Well, the MENTALIST just ended its S6 with what should have been a perfect ending with Jane getting past airport security to get on the plane Lisbet was leaving on so that he could profess his love for Lisbet. And then after Jane got hauled off the airplane and placed in custody for illegally entering the runway, Lisbet eventually came to him in agreement and the show ended on their kiss.

A perfect ending for the series. Jane overcoming his fears after his wife and daughter were murdered, finding the serial killer who murdered them (and killing him), and then finding he could go beyond his conning and flim-flamming and speak truthfully and tell another that he loved her.

So how was this ruined?

CBS fucked it all up by renewing the series!!!!

Can you believe that!?!

Oh well...

. . .

Can't think of too many tv shows that don't outstay their welcome or go past what was a good and natural ending. "Chuck" came close, though a lot of fans hated that those years of Sarah learning to trust and love were wiped out (me too) but at least that final moment on the beach gave everyone a lot of hope that they would be the couple they once were again.

TV tends to either kill too soon or hang on too long. Which is one reason why I watch a lot less these days, I am tired of getting yanked around over their false reality plays.
