Skye is an 0-8-4?

Ian Quinn was now also present for the birth of Agents of SHIELD's Marvel comics supervillain, Blizzard as he was for Graviton (Franklin Hall after Coulson kicked him into the machine Quinn created that controls the element gravitonium). And Quinn is working with the Clairvoyant

So, Avery and Lumley found a baby - an Object of Unknown Origin [0-8-4] thought to have certain Powers - in the arms of a dead senior agent. They realized that those around them also connected to this mysterious child were slowly being killed. Avery redacted the files about the baby and sent Skye bopping around the foster system in an attempt to protect her. And Avery was later killed for her role in Skye's life, while Lumley took a powder and hid.

The mystery concerning Skye's short-term origins has been resolved, but really not her ultimate origins. Does she really have powers? Where is she from? Is she an alien, or just some unlucky kid? Who was killing the agents? And is this somehow connected to the Clairvoyant?

Any ideas, Carol??

I'm not sure if she's going to actually have a super-power, having reached maturity it's either not manifesting because she didn't inherit it or she needs to be exposed to some kind of catalyst. I like how they managed to sneak in a bit of the actor's background to the storyline-she is half Chinese after all.

Happy the show has gotten better, thrilled Tahiti is over now.

I'll hold out for the possibility of a catalyst. I think that Skye is one of those 'strong women' types that Joss is promoting in the story. Though she could easily be so without a super power - and there certainly are two other women who fit the bill on the team.

I further wonder if her ability may be one in which she can easily assimilate a persona or abilities. Certainly Skye showed that to be true when she went out on her own, emulating May's persona, and found out where Coulson was being held in the previous week's story.
