And I'm sitting here with a grin from ear to ear.

That was one hell of an episode. I think it more than makes up for anyone's disappointments with the first ep.

Enough hints have been dropped, is Sherlock's past/future nemesis the third Holmes boy??

Oh yes that "the other one" line was some big big clue!

But there's still a posibility that Moriarty's return is the train hiding the train, you know...

Downloaded Google Chrome, installed an free app that allows the BBCiPlayer to be used. Kinda tough to keep it running today since I suspect their website was hit hard by fans but it works. The funny part is the app is only supposed to work for a few days then you are prompted by the makers to start paying for the use however I got around that by not flushing my Chrome history and then going directly to the BBC website, which apparently still sees my IP as safe to allow episode streaming. May or may not work for you depending on your speed however I am currently doing a DL of HD versions of the last two eps right now so that Don can watch it...way fewer issues with it than the streaming sites I tried to access which are very spammy to say the least.

That I don't think that Jim is truly back, just that someone rather cleverly found a way to make the government blink. It seems that hoaxes are a common element in this series...

I don't think he's back either! He only lives in Sherlock's palace mind (shades of Moffat's Jekyll, that scene with strait-jacketed Moriarty in the padded room!).

Now who will be the person behind his "return"? A new puzzle to solve!

And could "the other one" whom Mycroft mentioned be a girl and not a boy? Sherlock's joke about his name being a girl name could be a clue...

Janine.

Who was smarter than most of the fans figured and could possibly pass for Moriarity's saner sibling.

Wonder what CAM had on her?

[> I loved it!!! Much much better than the previous episode! -- Chani, Monday, January 13, 03:26:30pm (89-156-8-80.rev.numericable.fr/89.156.8.80)

And I want more scenes at the Holmes family house.

I loved the twist about Magnussen's spectacles or rather about his mind palace.

His terminator-like way of presenting problems and finding pressure point was a nice touch, and a great variation on Sherlock's usual scannings and clue-collecting!

The Chekhov perfume and finally the actual Chekhov gun were pretty obvious clues but figuring things out before the reveals (Mary being the one in Magnussen's office, and later Sherlock using John's gun to kill Magnussen) didn't ruin my fun at all.

And Sherlock's true self-sacrificing to protect John, totally made up for his faking his death last year.

Also Mycroft seeing his little brother as a little boy who did something stupid, perfect! Magnussen was so right about both Mycroft's and Sherlock's weaknesses.

The episode showed so well how much Sherlock cared for John but also the way the brother Holmes see one another.

"He's never wrong" was so well acted and delivered by Cumberbatch!

[> Family business -- Chani, Monday, January 13, 04:28:43pm (89-156-8-80.rev.numericable.fr/89.156.8.80)

So John's bride was played by Martin Freeman's real wife, Sherlock's parents were played by Benedict Cumbertbatch's parents...and now young Sherlock was played by Moffat's own son!

Whose dog was cast as Redbeard?

At least someone out in Cyberland made that speculation.
