Subject: So was the whole theme about Guy Fawkes day/Bonfire Night (5 Nov)?
In reply to: Lij 's message, "So Mary is....." on Monday, January 20, 01:47:55pm

John was in the Bonfire, and the plot was to blow up Parliament.

And the reason John was in the Bonfire? Was just to provide a clue to Sherlock, make a point about Guy Fawkes Day? In a sense Sherlock was sorta dumb about this, I figured out the Guy Fawkes day reference with the bonfire and knew it had to be the Parliament that as to be bombed from below. He had to get down in the underground before that hit him in a blinding revelation (the shot of Parliament and Big Ben blown up).

And the guy with the glasses in the 'museum' watching the bonfire.... I'm guessing he has something to do with Mary.

I had missed the Guy Fawkes connection to the present day situation when it first aired, later on it occurred to me but then again I was thinking that Sherlock was too distracted by the incident to connect the dots. He's a bit rusty when he gets back, perhaps??

Mary is many things. Clever and romantic are certainly two things that help define her but that's not the only things, that's for sure.

Or he would not have called the police (much to John's revealed consternation) before going underground. But did he have that revelation at the bonfire?

And the guy in the end thwarted the plan to blow Parliament up by reminding Sherlock of the bonfires of Guy Fawkes??

Guess I will see in the 3rd ep.

Because he dislikes having the appearance of taking someone else's suggestion seriously.

Lol, there is cell connectivity in some parts of the Underground, I agree not in the tunnels but with this show it's hard to tell what's real sometimes.

...... Sherlock knowing the approxiamate location of the bomb (train car) and the target of the bomber. Sherlock had the maps of the underground with them the abandoned line and station, but he could not know the absolute target of that bomb. Neither could we, although I deduced that it was surely Parliament. So it was only when Sherlock saw the subsidiary charges set in the dome (whatever that was) under what was surely Parliament that Sherlock had the flash showing Parliament going up in a fireball.

So Sherlock surely pointed the police out to approxiamate location of the bomb probably before he and John entered the tunnel.

Which is easier than admitting John was right, apparently.

*rolls eyes*
