I think it's great for most of the fans to hear that there is more Sherlock coming. (of course some fans hated Series 3 so much they have vowed never to watch again but then, haters gotta hate,etc)

I do think the long gap did hurt the series to a certain extent but you can hardly expect the actors to turn down major movie deals to do tv. Even this tv series, which is like getting three movies over the course of three weeks. I just think some of the momentum that we were left with at the end of "Fall" got softened with time, it was harder than I expected to get into the mindset than it would have been if it had been only a year.

But hey, I would rather have the gap and have something to look forward to at some point than turn the tv on and watch the sad, slow degeneration of most of the current American tv series out there. As far as I am concerned, Sherlock has not yet worn out it's welcome, it's just more that I wish it could visit a little sooner is all.
