I would think they'd be pretty easy pickings for predators and anyone with a rifle. So most likely not too much of a hazard, though rumours have it there have been sightings in Florida. Litters are pretty small and it sounds like the males need to be neutered when kept as pets, presumably they are stinky otherwise.
