His successor is kinda cute though. Don't want any rodent pets but have to admit they do have a certain calm/cute/big factor going that some people would find appealing. Plus I think even the most calm Capy would find Casey a bit much!!

I would think they'd be pretty easy pickings for predators and anyone with a rifle. So most likely not too much of a hazard, though rumours have it there have been sightings in Florida. Litters are pretty small and it sounds like the males need to be neutered when kept as pets, presumably they are stinky otherwise.
