Way back when the kids were small and we were still living on the North Coast, Ali's cat/guardian/spirit guide Murphy started bringing her gifts of live bats. Through the cat door and downstairs, releasing them into her bedroom late at night. It took me a little while to clue into who was bringing them into the house-the day I found a very much alive and very old little brown bat hanging from a wall quilt over her bed was the day I realized it had to be Murphy since no other cat dared go into her room. Released the bat and blocked up the cat door....

Murphy got one last revenge by sneaking in a bat the next night and noisily chewing it right next to my side of the bed.

He was SUCH a bastard that way!!

My own feline would probably just sit and glare, though ;)
