Subject: It rained!

At least a half-inch. That is more than 25% of the amount we had alread had since the start of May. And they are predicting more for today and possibly tomorrow, well, a 30% chance.

It rained so hard that I could barely make out the treeline of the fence-row between my land and the grade school. But I don't know if it will help any. I think the beans in the field behind the house just never sprouted and I don't know if they will now. Other beans that looked really good over on the river farm have probably aborted their flowers because of a lack of moisture. They will likely set on more beans in another set of flowers but that means yield will be less than half what it should. I'm not at all sure our corn will manage at all. It looked fairly bad. But it rained before tasseling so that might be good.

Hopeful...

....

It's been cool and rainy here. If I could, I would send this weather your way long enough to shut up all the whiners here...

They have been some strange stormms though.

Sunday the main storm was SSW of us and finally moved up here, but before it did a smal cell maybe 2-3 miles in diameter built up between us and the main storm. And this storm took off east then southeast then south circling the main storm in a clockwise direction. Strange.

And there have been these gust fronts blowing out from the main storms sometimes 30-40 miles. It's like rings of light rain spreading out from the storms and they would even come together and sometimes form a storm if they hit each other right. Freaky storms, not at all like a normal line of thunderstorms.

. . .
