Subject: New TV for which I am thankful....

There are probably a few more I should like, but I'm sticking to just two. And they are both on ABC.

First up REVENGE. Best damn guilty pleasure there is. Hot women, even hotter men, a gay geek who is helping Emily Thorne, whose real name is Amanda Clarke, get her revenge from those who unfairly had her father imprisoned where he died. Then there's the guy who will do anything to get ahead including prostituting himself with the gay geek....

But then comes my favorite. GRIMM might be the producer-descendant of Buffy, but I like to think that "Once Upon a Time" is the true lineal 'grown-up' version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The Buffy of this show is Emma Swann who is drawn to Storybrooke, Maine, by the son she gave up as a teen, Henry. Henry's adoptive mother, Regina Mills, is the mayor of Storybrooke.

But then there is the back-story that everyone is equivalent to the character in Henry book of fairy tales. And Henry's adoptive mother, Mayor Regina Mills is the Evil Queen who has imprisoned everyone in Storybrooke. Only she knows it for sure, Henry believes it (though I think Mr Gold/Rumplestiltskin also knows). But Emma is skeptical and doesn't believe her son Henry. He is afterall in therapy with a psychologist, but he just happens to be Jimney Cricket! Emma herself is the daughter of Snow White, Mary Margaret Blanchard, with whom she is now living.

Emma is supposed to be the savior of those who live in Storybrooke from the Evil Queen as was prophesied by Rumplestiltskin to her mother, Snow White. Still Emma seeks to see that her son is treated right and Sheriff Graham had given her a job as his deputy. But tonight after learning that the Sheriff is in a sexual relationship with Mayor Mills, Emma is disconcerted because she thought the Sheriff was an ally. After a confrontation in a bar with the Sheriff, Emma walks out but he follows telling her the sex is meaningless, that he doesn't feel anything, that he wants desperately to feel something.

And then he kisses her. And in that act he sees his other life. What ensues was just a fantastic episode about his life as The Huntsman and his quest in Storybrooke to finally feel something. Does he finally get there? Yes. Does all end well? No, there be angst. And that's what makes this out to be a true Buffy descendant.

If you haven't watched it... try it. For a limited time only, watch every episode online for free at: http://abc.go.com/watch/once-upon-a-time/SH55126545
