Subject: Me? Partner?

"Good, I didn't want to have to kill you."

Sarah Jones as Rebecca Madsen, a San Francisco Police Department homicide detective.

Jorge Garcia as Dr. Diego “Doc” Soto, an Alcatraz expert and comic book enthusiast.

Sam Neill as Emerson Hauser, an enigmatic, knows-everything-but-tells-nothing government agent.

Parminder Nagra as Lucy Banerjee, Agent Hauser’s technician. Good to see her after her stint as a doctor on ER.......... but she just got shot!!! And she's in a coma!

Robert Forster as Ray Archer, Det. Madsen’s surrogate uncle.

Santiago Cabrera as Jimmy Dickens, Det. Madsen’s supportive cop fiancé.

Jonny Coyne as Edwin James, the iron-fisted warden of Alcatraz.

Jason Butler Harner as E.B. Tiller, the merciless associate warden.

Well, Alcatraz is a good mystery. Who or what caused the displacement in time of the inmates and guards. Why did Jack Sylvane go after the second guy he killed and what was the significance of the Alcatraz cell key he took? And where did that key.... whoops! There's the key now.

And why is Madson's grandfather, inmate 2002, important? Why didn't Doc Soto have anything more on him than one paragraph in his book (it's all I could find!). Grandpa Madson killed his wife (maybe not?) and he knew something would happen when Sylvane was in the infirmary at Alcatraz and told him as much. So will grandpa become Rebecca's most wanted man? And is behind some of it or just in the know?

And now the sniper (missed his name - Cobb) knew that they would be looking at that hotel room and set it up so he could kill one of them. Whoever came into his cross-hairs.

Just how much does Hauser know? He was there when it all went down in 1963. Jack Sylvane still claims to be clueless. But Dr Beauregard doesn't sound like a nice man.

So even though EB Tiller is now dead in the present by Jack Sylvane (from his past), he still shows up as the ruthless ass't warden specializing in the hardcase prisoners and solitary.

LOL... death at a pseudo Buy-More. Well, ok, not so funny, but that store just reminded me of CHUCK's Buy-More. Two crows, three people. Is it Cobb's old pattern or is there a new pattern imposed upon him by who/whatever is operating here......

Now I am LOL! Cobb's solitary roommate. But it was the genesis of his viewing of his newest killing field.

Wake up, Lucy!! Madson needs Doc Soto.

Meanwhile at the underground forest bunker/prison.... Cobb walks past Sylvane. Hauser: "I could have killed you today, you're going to wish I had."

OMG!! Cobb's doctor/psychologist is Lucille (Pen)gupta in 1963 is Lucy in 2012!!!!

So did anyone else what Alcatraz?? That last twist with hooked me.

[> Math-maven Milo from the FRINGE Redverse Plateau on ALCATRAZ -- Lij, Tuesday, January 17, 07:39:18am (adsl-99-75-48-224.dsl.bltnin.sbcglobal.net/99.75.48.224)

Alcatraz has nabbed Fringe¡®s Michael Eklund and Smallville¡®s Eric Johnson to portray escaped prisoners on FOX midseason mystery drama.

Alcatraz centers on an intrepid team of FBI agents who hunt down missing Alcatraz prisoners and guards who have reappeared in the present day after disappearing 30 years earlier.

Eklund, who Fringe fans may remember as the brilliant-but-troubled Milo from the Season 3 episode ¡°The Plateau¡°, will play the titular Kit Nelson in Episode 3. He¡¯s described a terrifying kidnapper who always returns his victims to their homes¡after he¡¯s killed them. I can really see Eklund in this role. The episode airs Monday, Jan. 23.

Johnson, who currently stars on Rookie Blue, will portray Episode 4¡äs titular Cal Sweeney ¡ª a smooth talking bank robber whose interests lie in safety deposit boxes and the secrets they contain. This episode is slated to air Monday, Jan. 30.

This casting pretty much confirms the Alcatraz episode naming convention for the first season. Again, I think it¡¯s pretty neat but I do like imaginative titles. Still, the most important thing is the story and its ability to make us invest in the overarching journey of the main characters as they dig deeper into the mythology.
