Maybe I should rewatch "Hounds" too...

I'm a sucker for good plots and Gatiss' episode failed in that department but there was definitely stuff that added to the character's study, a turning point on the path from the great man Sherlock is to the good man he could become according to Lestrade. It moved Sherlock's storyline forward.

Methinks the whole second series was all about humanizing the great Sherlock Holmes who loves to show off, step by step, through an emotional journey, from "falling in love" to feeling fear and grief, to just falling. It humbled him to the point that he had to ask Molly for her help in the finale, and give up his reputation to save his friends.

Anyway, I'm willing to forgive Gatiss a lot since I love his Mycroft.
