Subject: Will the real Nina Sharp please stand up!

Who is the real Nina? And is the faux-Nina (Ninot!) a shapeshifter or is she the Nina from the alternate universe?

We're starting "Phase 2" and it has to do with Olivia. Poor girl she's getting the memories back of her second life from the previous three seasons but then she gets abducted (again!), but this time obstensibly by David Robert Jones.

But which Nina at the end is the real Nina Sharp (from the Bluverse). It could be that the Nina with Lincoln and Walter is the real one. That the fake one, Ninot, had simply been at MD for certain times (stealing the cortexiphan and conversing with DRG in the Redverse via QE'd computer). That would mean that the one with Olivia is Ninot. The only problem I see with Nina at MD with Lincoln and Walter being the real one is the idea that a Nina was conversing with DRG over the computer system that Nina and Bell had previously used when conversing from Bluverse to Redverse. Unless that Nina just happened to have been at MD when conversing with DRG. Strange....

It was just too good a plan to have Olive and Peter go home together after the case was resolved.

And the glyph code was..... HENRY!! Please, this cannot mean baby Henry..... NO!!!!

That's it for now....

. . .

I'm slightly annoyed by the current storylines (and with the Lost-like manipulative music that always plays in the "emotional" moments)...

Strange indeed, that Nina business. The problem is that "evil Nina" (the one who gave Olivia shots and was conversing with DRJ )seemed to give orders to DRJ not to take orders from him ,so I don't see how she can be a shapeshifter...unless she'd be a sort of Cylon, rebelling against her master and taking charge!

She has to be human. Is she from the blue or the red verse?

We used to have only one Nina in the previous reality, perhaps there are two of them this time. If not, I don't see how it would work with a shapeshifter given that the person has to be dead for the shapeshifter to take their place.

As for who's who at the end of the episode, I tend to think that the one with Walter and Lincoln is the "good one" and the one with Olivia is the "evil one" aka DRJ's boss, but perhaps the MD one (blue Nina) is actually DRJ's boss...and red Nina was killed and replaced by a shapeshifter, who is currently with Olivia, so actually both Ninas are bad news!

Also, concerning THE 'ship, I could have lived with an Amberlivia becoming more and more Ourlivia (and AmberWalter becoming more and more Ourwalter)and eventually hooking up with Peter again, but I don't like this cortexiphan-induced memories turning her into Ourolivia. It sounds too easy and a bit cheesy. I'm afraid that subtlety isn't FRINGE's strongest suit.

The fact that Peter mentioned his betraying "the Olivia he loved" with Altliv (apparently Olivia didn't remember that part!)has to be foreshadowing something so I guess that "Henry" might be about Altliv's baby indeed!

The week's case lacked originality and they seemed to drop it suddenly -- Olivia told us that the case was closed (really?) and Astrid was "sent" to say that we'll never know...okay -- in order to focus on the Olivia/Peter ship and the Nina thing in the last minutes of the episode, which was clumsy writing.

But overall, the acting was solid, Astrid is indeed very pretty (it's about time someone says it out loud)and beats anyone in the empathy departement, and Lincoln was back and rocked (loved his "no phone calls" and the way he stared down Nina).

I tend to think that every Nina is evil. I think it is a ploy by Nina/DRJ to give the Bluverse Nina a renewed sense of credibility with the Bluverse Fringe team after the Nina with Olivia is discovered to be a shapeshifter.

Or... it could be the other way around. Nina tied up with Olivia is the real Bluverse Nina. But she is still allied with DRJ. And the purpose of it is to rehabilitate Nina with the Bluverse Fringe team.

So, I think the writers are playing with our minds on the subject of Nina.

I too loved Lincoln taking charge. But it is what any FBI agent should have done. It was known to him that someone was dosing Olivia with Cortexiphan and the only possible source was MD via Nina. Nina necessarily had to be a suspect.

But that brings up another possible scenario. The Nina with Lincoln is the real Nina Sharp. The one with Olivia is the Redverse Nina Sharp. RedNina (Ninot) has been covertly playing the part of the Bluverse Nina to dose Olivia and to learn about her nemesis - BluNina. And now the idea is to fully replace BluNina with Ninot via her association with an incarcerated Olivia.

Whatever DRJ/'a Nina' have planned, I think it is going to bring some havoc to FRINGE.

Its a possibility that the concept of this episode (regarding the engineered humans) may play a role in the mythology of observers?
