Subject: It seemed rather obvious that the 'he' was Peter..... and about the title...
In reply to: Chani 's message, "Re: The Day We Died....." on Saturday, May 07, 08:23:47am

The Day We Died.

I think the "We" could mean all of us in our universe. Peter destroyed the Red!verse and that would lead to the eventual annihilation of the Blue!verse.

But I think there is a greater meaning..... I think "We" is the romanitic relationship between Peter and Olivia. And because they do not remember him, their love has died.

I think to get that back will take more than a season 4, but I could be wrong. But it is certainly at the heart of what is to come. If she starts remembering him like she did in "The Plateau" I'm going to break down crying at every episode. That was so powerful a moment.

I felt the disjoint nature of the episode also. By all rights the episode should have lasted an hour and a half or two hours. I've read that they had a lot more filmed and cut it down. So I sorta hope that they have a season 3 DVD/Blu-Ray with an extended season 3, "The Day We Died" episode.

LOL... the Observers do strike a funky pose!

And if there has been a time loop started by Walter sending back the machine and certain Fringe people to become the First People, then what have the Observers been doing during all those time loops - however many occurred... thousand... millions? What was their purpose? Hmm....

I mean, The Observers, obviously!

So I guess that their purpose is entertainment! ;- )

Or maybe, they are just a metaphor of the writers who see it all, write off some characters or save them according to their will.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee............ I hope more they represent something more than that. Afterall, the Observers are for the most part emotionless. Fringe has me being quite emotional about certain situations. Though in some situations I could see the point.

And about Peter:::

The thought just occurred to me that he might just be (return as) Peter. Most likely from the Red universe, but possibly also a Peter from the Blue universe. Thus one Peter and one AltPeter could even be extant. It's just that his histories are completely different amd in no way crossing that of Olivia.

This would still possibly stilll fit Septembers declaration that (this certain) Peter never existed and thus they have no memory of him. A Peter (or AltPeter) need not fit any of the history we as 'outside Observers' know of him. Though I am getting the feeling that AltPeter and Fauxlivia may have a son named Henry. And if no 'real Peter' exists (Blue!verse Peter) then we now have the consequences of Henry's existance coming to bear on what most of us consider to be the true and necessary romance of Fringe to be. Which is why I consider "The Day We Died" as the death of the romance between Olivia and Peter, thus "We," to be the true meaning of the episode's title.
