I have never read Compte-Sponville's books but I think that he is a materialist philosophe and sort of of godless Christian as he is very much interested in morality.

"My inquisitor" 's writing uses a lot of Thomas' lectures in order to articulate his argument. Reading Thomas'works may help me with my translations.

And he isn't a hack. Actually he is brilliant in his way. Not an easy read at all!
