Subject: Did you ever watch Dr Who from the 60s, 70s, and 80s?

Most of those Doctors were in over a hundred episodes. That's enough to get used to. Plus the old Doctors sometimes showed up in episodes with the newer Doctor. One show when Tom Baker was the Doctor was named "The Four Doctors" because they had the three of his prior incarnations in the show.

BTW... does it mean anything that the only other show I saw Tom Baker in was an old Law & Order where he played a drunken bum?

But Baker as a Doctor brought an almost Sherlock Holmes - like character to Dr Who. He was pretty good. And I think Baker was the Doctor in more episodes than any other person.

I watched bits of Who eps here and there on CBC but the cheesy SFX and storylines never hooked me on the show.

I'd still rather have three or maybe four really good seasons of a tv show than have an abomination like House or most any other long running drama out there. I can't think of any drama over time that didn't get stagnant. The short seasons and eye for quality that we see with the better Brit shows is a much more satisfying way to go, at least for me.
