I watched bits of Who eps here and there on CBC but the cheesy SFX and storylines never hooked me on the show.

I'd still rather have three or maybe four really good seasons of a tv show than have an abomination like House or most any other long running drama out there. I can't think of any drama over time that didn't get stagnant. The short seasons and eye for quality that we see with the better Brit shows is a much more satisfying way to go, at least for me.
