Subject: So I tried Google Phone Call....

Heck, I didn't know if my computer had a microphone or not. Turns out it did.

And yes ***hangs head in shame*** all I did was call myself.

But in Google Mail, Google Phone Call is free through 2011. Too bad we cannot call Europe.

It turns out I used a telephone number: 768-705-8888.

You have to download a simple Google app. The voice quality was great (I imagine Skype is also). Google promises "insanely" low rates after the free period where they hook you in!

I never bothered since the person I kept trying to talk into getting Skype years ago won't bother, but Andy has tried it. And yes, once you get a taste of DSL, you can never go back!
