Which explains how my two ten pound cats can make my two hounds very uncomfortable looking if the cats are barring their way to a doorway...

Also, cats have five sets of weapons to a dog's one set!

Indeed! They made "the enemy" see the panther in them.

My old Siamese could scare any dog away because he used to march on them, fearless, hair all standing, and vocalizing in a way that only Siamese cats can (you know that sound alone would have anyone petrified).

Have you ever seen The Incredible Journey (the original movie not the remake) in which the Siamese cat faces a bear?

Since then, I've heard of cats treeing bears that wandered into their yards. Yikes!
