Author: Star X.
Subject: Star X.: Ahem. Since my author is a bit... indisposed... at the moment (indicates Star S. still trying to knock herself unconcious), she's charged me with the task of trying to explain what she said about your natal chart.
In reply to: Liam DuBarre, who has no damned clue what you're talking about. 's message, "I have a what of what, now?" on 09:47:26 02/11/03 Tue

Star X.: Okay, here's a rundown of the different ways the planets interact. You know about conjunctions and oppositions, right? Well, here's a more detailed explanation of how planets and signs interact. Oh, and semisextiling isn't mentioned, because so few people use it. The number in parentheseis is the degrees of seperation between the planets.

Conjunction: (0°)
Conjuctions are the strongest aspects in astrology. The two (or more) planets involved are a focal point of the chart, and their meaning is emphasized. They can be either easy or challenging, depending on what planets are involved and the other aspects of the chart.

Sextile: (60°) [Note: This is NOT the same as semisextiling!]
Sextiles are considered quite favorable, as their signs usually share the same energy (not element, however). They do require some effort on your part, however, unlike easy trines. Sextiles are like development opportunities, so if you don't take action to develop them, you can miss out.

Square: (90°)
Squares are considered to be challenging, and their tension can produce dynamic action in your life and development. Most people would never do anything if they were not motivated by squares (or oppositions).

Trine: (120°)
Considered the most favorable aspect, as its signs will usually share the same element and energy. These are well developed skills and strengths, which many people fail to recognize within themselves because they do it so well. Too many trines can make you weak or lazy, since there is no resistance in a trine, merely an easy flow of energy between the two planets involved.

Opposition: (180°)
Oppositions are considered challenging, especially in the areas of growth or achievement. They can also show a need for balancing opposite needs and/or energies, such as self vs. others.

Quinicux: (150°)
In a quinicux (or inconjunct) there is no relationship between the signs involved; neither element, sign, nor energy. This aspect indicates a need to adjust in some way, whether it be a change in attitude, habit, or behavior.

Actually, I sorta lied when I said I wouldn't say anything about semisextiling. Semisextiling is one of the most difficult aspects of planetary interrelationships. The planets are seperated by 30°, meaning they are one sign apart. Just as in the quinicux, this means that there is absolutley no relationship between the signs involved. Much stress and tension comes from the interrelationship of the planets where a semisextile occurs.

If you really must know, I got this all out of a book on astrology. Except for the semisextiling, that is, Star had to tell me what she remembered about that, since the book I looked in did not mention this. Does this help you understand what my author was trying to tell you any more, Liam? Oh, and a word of advice; never call her 'chick'. She gets rather angry when someone calls her that.

Chad(O.C.): (as announcer) Next time on "Astrology Explained with Star Xikanthus", we'll cover the meanings of the Sun sign, Moon sign, and the ascendant.
Star X.: (running off the board, drawing her conformer) I'll get you for that, baka!
