Don't irritate me. Marylanders are NOT Yankees, but neither are we Southerners. (Not that we claim to be, for that matter.) Maryland is SOUTH of the Mason-Dixon line, therefore we are a SOUTHERN state. Also, Maryland stayed neutral in that war, and provided troops to BOTH sides.
