I'm listened to dufus Bush and I'm dumbfounded by his speech.
First of all, he's praising the troops in the audience...why??? I do support the troops but how easy is it to salute those sitting safely in a theater seat in Tampa - Oh, how awful for them! They aren't on the front lines...what sacrifice have they made?
Then he's faulting the Iraqis as being cowards for dressing as civilians and then attacking.
Like what our founding fathers did? As I recall, we laughed at the British for being military - marching in straight lines and abiding by the rules of war while we hid behind bushes and snuck around using every below-the-belt tactic to defeat them.
And I'm continually confused by his use of the word 'liberation'. Who wants to be liberated? Did he get a letter from some Iraqi mother requesting that we free her from this regime? Usually there's a civil war of sorts or one nation invading another (ah, wait, that's US!). I have yet to see the Iraqis hailing us as heroes and liberators. I have yet to hear from their masses that they want us there to destroy their way of life.
What propaganda he spews. No one wants us there (except maybe the Israelis)
And then GMA just had a woman marine on. Her husband is already in Iraq serving as a marine and now they've asked her to go. She has a 4-month old baby and no one to care for him and she's also recovering from cervical cancer surgery. The marines told her to give the baby up for adoption and deploy or be discharged.
This is the caring nation we profess to be? We don't even treat our own humanely. I have no doubts how we treat the POW's we capture. Nice, nice for the camera and then what?
Bush and HIS regime are an embarrassment. He is the Commander in Chief. Where is he for this woman? Where is he for this child?
He is quick to tell me what evil is but I don't have to look across the oceans to find it. I can find it right here at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
