Subject: Type II diabetes and chronic kidney disease

I have Type II diabetes and have been receiving VA disability since about 2001. I have recently been also diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease, Stage 3. I have applied for an increased disability rating, but have been denied. I have engaged a lawyer on a contingent fee basis to help me with my claim since I feel "CKD" is a direct complication arising from long-term diabetes. I am wondering if anyone else has had any success in obtaining additional disability.
I was stationed at Dong Ba Thin (near Cam Ranh Bay) in 1970.
