Subject: TDY AT TAN SU KNUT AB, VIET NAM

MY MESSAGE IS AN ATTEMPT TO LOCATE VIET VETS THAT WERE STATIONED WITH ME AT THE 509 FIGHTER INTERCEPTOR SQUADRON DETACHNENT AT TAN SON NHUT AB, VIETNAM IN JAN 1966.

I NEED YOUR HELP WITH THIS SINCE I HAVE TO PROVE MY BEING STATIONED THERE FOR COMPENSATION PURPOSES.

I BET THE FOLLOWING WILL REFRESH EVERYBODY'S MEMORY THAT WAS THERE:

ON THE MORNING OF JAN 19TH, 1966, A PILOT FROM OUR DETACHMENT CRASHED ONE OF OUR F-102A AIRCRAFT ATTEMPTIN TO LAND ON THE RUNWAY. I BELIEVE HE WAS CAPT KRUCKNER, BUT I AM NOT CERTAIN.

I WAS THE DETACHMENT'S ORDERLY ROOM CLERK AS WELL AS MAIL PROCESSER AND OTHER POSITIONS ASSIGNED ME BY CAPT REID, OUR
DETACHMENT COMMANDER.

I DROVE AN OLD WORLD WAR 11 JEEP TO PICK UP MAIL AND OTHER FUNCTIONS FOR THE DETACHMENT.FUNNY THE WHEELS WIGGLED IN THE FRONT. IT WAS HAND PAINTED BLUE.

PLEASE, LETS HOOK UP.
