The controversy is really not so: CDR Miller was one of a very small minority of US POWs in Vietnam who willingly collaborated with the enemy. The Dept of the Navy censured CDR Miller for this shortly after his return from N. Vietnam.
If you desire further information on CDR Miller's performance while a POW, I recommend you read research the books "P.O.W.", Hubbel and "Honor Bound . . .", Rochester & Kiley
