My nursing license allowed me to qualify for case management certification in my state - otherwise I would have had to have had 36 hours of " work in a related field like substance abuse or mental health". That being said, if you have worked as a nurse - or in any position-in these areas the hours count!!! I was very honest about what I had done and where I was now - they were just happy to have me!! I had actually voluntarily surrendered my license and only recenlty ( 2010 ) had gotten it back. Needless to say I had been looking for "nursing work" since.....it's tough out there!!
