Absolutely! We have NO RIGHTS WHATSOEVER when it comes to out nursing licenses. It would be interesting to see what it appears to be from the point of view of the monitors. I suspect they are frustrated that they don't have more power over us.

I wonder what that "more power" would look like? Raiding our homes to find evidence of drug use? Shooting us at dawn without benefit of trial? Maybe it is enough that they can take away our livelihood.

I remember being appalled that the court appointed "counselor," aka evaluator looked like a regular therapist but the big difference was that anything I said was immediately reported to the authorities to use against me. It would have been more honest of them just to interrogate me up front instead of hiding it behind someone who wanted to "help" me.

Don't get me wrong, I have been clean and sober for many years and do not think that substance impaired nurses should have no consequences. It is the witch hunting tactics that are used and the lip curling disgust we are met with in the profession that enrages me.

I am in recovery IN SPITE OF not because of them!

No bitterness here. Ha!
